Microcrystalline wax has good lubricity, which can form a thin film on mechanical equipment, effectively reducing friction resistance during machine operation, and reducing energy loss and machine wear. Microcrystalline wax is a lubricant with many excellent characteristics, which can provide high-quality lubrication protection for the operation of mechanical equipment, reduce wear and friction, and extend the service life of the machine. At the same time, its environmental nature is also very worthy of promotion.
What is microcrystalline wax? It is a hydrocarbon wax with high molecular weight extracted from the residue of vacuum distillation of high-waxy crude oil through solvent deasphalting, solvent refining, solvent deoiling, and dewaxing, assisted by clay adsorption or hydrofining. It is commonly known as "microcrystalline wax" because of its fine crystal.
The grade of microcrystalline wax is divided in terms of its melting point. Generally speaking, microcrystalline wax with a deep refining degree and a high melting point has a higher value. The melting point range of microcrystalline wax is (60~95 ℃), while No. 70 microcrystalline wax refers to microcrystalline wax with a low melting point between 67 ℃ and 72 ℃, which is milky white or light yellow. The main components are C35~C60 high molecular weight branched isomeric alkanes, cycloalkanes with long side chains, a small amount of straight chain normal alkanes, and a very small amount of aromatics, which have low hardness and good flexibility.
Microcrystalline wax 70 is solid at room temperature and has blocky and granular products. If the force is applied at a certain temperature, it tends to shape and flow, so the elongation is very large, the flexibility is also good, the gel strength is relatively large, and the protection and adhesion are good.
